What deformities can be corrected commonly?
Common nasal deformities that can be corrected through rhinoplasty surgery include
- Dorsal hump
- Broad nose
- Depressed nasal bridge
- Unequal nostril size
- Nasal deviation, septal deviation
- Pinch nose deformity
How it is done
There are two methods of rhinoplasty open rhinoplasty and close rhinoplasty I prefer the open rhinoplasty method here small incision on the columella( part of the nose between nostrils ) and extending into both nostrils. Skin is retracted and nose-supporting structures are identified and manipulated precisely. I can have access to nasal tip structures septum and dorsum.
Tipplasty procedure to improve nasal tip, reduction of a broad nose, inequality of nostril
Hump reduction or dorsal augmentation.
The excess part of the septum is removed and the nose reshapes by manipulation of cartilage and nasal bone.
Nasal obstruction
The commonest cause of obstruction deviates nasal septum
The collapse of internal valves or external valves.
How long does it take to reshape the nose?
Average surgical time is 2 to 3 hours it is done under general anesthesia so patients hardly remember anything done during surgery
Can you straighten your nose naturally?
No, as deformity involves various structures simultaneously. Only by surgery, the precise shape can be achieved
Can nose reshaping change your face?
The nose is the most central part of the face, a 1-millimeter change is noticeable at a social distance hence re-shaping surgery will be appreciated by those who have seen you before for others your face looks more natural.
Can I wear makeup after nose reshaping?
Yes very well but after complete recovery say 10 to 15 days later.
